Oct.28 BatteBots introductions & Basic Joystic Programing

Today is the second time of our club activity. This time, I briefly introduced a interesting robot competition named BattleBots(or also known as Robotwars).

BattleBots is an American competition television series. Competitors design and operate remote-controlled armed and armored machines designed to fight in an arena combat elimination tournament. For five seasons, BattleBots aired on the American Comedy Central and was hosted by Bil DwyerSean Salisbury, and Tim Green. Comedy Central's first season premiered on August 30, 2000, and its fifth and last season ended on December 21, 2002. (Quoted from Wikipedia)

After brief introductions of some classic robots, we watched the final episode of BattleBots Season 6. Then we discussed and analyzed the structure of the robots in the episode.

Then in the end , simple sample of codes to control a motor with a joystick was shown.

The powerpoint of today’s activity is presented below.
